A specific video won't download — what should I include in the report?
Send us the exact Facebook URL, the device and browser you're using (for example, "Chrome on Android 14" or "Safari on macOS Sonoma"), and a short description of what happens when you click Download. A screenshot of the error, if there is one, helps enormously. Without the URL we cannot reproduce the issue.
Can you add support for Instagram / TikTok / YouTube?
FDOWN is currently focused on Facebook video formats — public videos, reels, stories and live recordings. Adding other platforms is on the roadmap but not planned for the short term. If you'd like to vote for a specific platform, mention it in your message with the subject "Feature request" — we tally votes manually.
How do I request a takedown of my own content?
If you are the copyright owner of a video that someone else has shared on Facebook and you want it removed, the fastest path is to report the post directly to Facebook through their own DMCA form. FDOWN does not host any videos — we only fetch them on demand from Facebook's servers — so removing a link from FDOWN does not remove the file from Facebook. That said, we still honour takedown requests: send an email to [email protected] with proof of ownership and the URL, and we will block that URL on our side within 48 hours.
Do you offer an API for commercial use?
Not at the moment. FDOWN is a free consumer product. If you have a commercial use case in mind — for example, embedding FDOWN into a media-monitoring pipeline or a research project — describe it in a message with the subject "Business" and we'll get back to you to discuss whether something is possible.
I'd like to advertise on FDOWN — do you sell ad space?
No. FDOWN does not run third-party ads anywhere on the site, and we have no plans to start. The service is funded through optional donations from users who find it useful — nothing more. Please don't send partnership proposals for ad inventory, we'll have to decline.
