Is FDOWN really free?

FDOWN is completely free for personal use. There are no hidden fees, daily limits, sign-up or premium tier. We don’t show ads inside the downloader, and we don’t bundle any software with the downloaded files.

Do I need to log in with my Facebook account?

You don’t need to log in or provide your Facebook password. Just paste the public URL of the video you want to download. Private videos, including videos from private groups, are not supported.

What is the maximum video quality I can download?

The tool fetches the original file uploaded by the author. If the creator uploaded a 1080p Full HD video, you’ll be able to download it in 1080p. The same applies to 4K, 720p and 480p. When multiple options are available, the tool lists them all (HD, SD, low quality or audio-only MP3) and you can pick the one that suits your device and connection.

Can I download Facebook videos on iPhone and iPad?

On iOS 13 and later, you can open FDOWN in Safari, paste the video link, tap Download and the file will be saved to the Files app. From there you can move it to your Photos library or share it with any other application.

Does FDOWN store the videos I download?

FDOWN does not host or keep copies of the videos you download. Our servers fetch the video from Facebook and give you a direct download link, but we do not copy, store, cache or index the content. We keep no download history. The only records we retain are short-lived technical server logs, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Is downloading Facebook videos legal?

Downloading public Facebook videos for personal, offline viewing is generally permitted in most jurisdictions, but you must respect the copyright of the original creator. You may not redistribute, monetize or re-upload the videos without the author’s written consent. The service is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Why does the download button sometimes return no result?

This usually happens when the video has been deleted, made private, age-restricted, or when Facebook has temporarily changed the video URL structure. Try copying the link again from the original post. If the problem persists, contact us through the contact page with the URL and we’ll investigate.

Do you support downloading Facebook Live videos?

Once a live stream has ended and Facebook has processed the recording, you can download it just like any regular video. Real-time downloading of an ongoing live stream is not supported, so wait until the broadcast is finished and the recording appears on the creator’s timeline.
