Copy the video link

Open Facebook in your browser or in the Facebook app. Find the video you want to save, open the sharing options or three-dot menu and look for "Copy link". The menu location can vary between the app and website.

Paste the link

Return to the site and paste the link into the input field at the top of this page. You can use the button with the clipboard icon to read the link from your clipboard if your browser allows access, or press Ctrl+V on Windows or Command+V on Mac.

Choose quality & download

Click "Download" to check the available formats. If options are found, choose a video quality or an audio-only file. HD, SD, and lower-quality video may be available, depending on the source. MP3 requires successful audio conversion in your browser. Check your browser’s downloads list to find the saved file.

FDOWN is free for personal use. You do not need an account or a paid subscription. There is no daily download quota. We don’t show ads inside the downloader, and we don’t bundle any software with the downloaded files.

Do I need to log in with my Facebook account?

You don’t need to log in or provide your Facebook password. Just paste the public URL of the video you want to download. Private videos, including videos from private groups, are not supported.

What is the maximum video quality I can download?

The highest available quality depends on the versions Facebook provides for that particular video. Even if the original upload was high resolution, the download options may be different. Available resolutions may include 1080p, 720p, or lower resolutions. Check the listed video options and choose one that suits your device and connection. An audio-only option may also be offered, but it is separate from video quality.

Can I download Facebook videos on iPhone and iPad?

Open FDOWN in Safari on your iPhone or iPad, paste the video link, and tap Download. Choose one of the available files and confirm the download if prompted. Why does the download button sometimes return no result?

The video may have been deleted, made private, or age-restricted. Changes on Facebook or a temporary connection problem can also prevent the tool from finding a downloadable file. Try copying the link again from the original post. If the problem persists, contact us through the contact page with the URL and we’ll investigate.

Do you support downloading Facebook Live videos?

Once a live stream has ended and its recording is publicly available, you can try its link in FDOWN. A download is possible only if a supported file is available. Real-time downloading of an ongoing live stream is not supported, so wait until the broadcast is finished and the recording appears on the creator’s timeline.
