Terms of Service
Last updated: January 1, 2026
Welcome to FDOWN ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FDOWN website at fdown.tools (the "Service"). By accessing, browsing or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors and users of the Service, regardless of whether you have registered an account. Because FDOWN does not require registration, no account-creation step is involved in your acceptance of these Terms - your use of the Service itself constitutes acceptance.
1. Acceptance of terms
By using FDOWN you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
You also confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in the jurisdiction in which you reside. If you are under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), you must not use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
2. The service
FDOWN is a free, web-based tool that allows users to download publicly accessible video content from Facebook - including public timeline videos, watch videos, reels and stories from public profiles and pages - for offline, personal, non-commercial use. The Service does not host, store, cache or redistribute any video content. When you submit a Facebook URL to FDOWN, our servers fetch the underlying video file directly from Facebook's content delivery network and return a direct download link to your browser.
We make no guarantee that every Facebook video can be downloaded. Some videos may be unavailable due to privacy settings, age restrictions, geographic restrictions, Facebook platform changes, technical errors or other factors outside our control. The availability of the Service may also change at any time without notice, and we may modify, suspend or discontinue any feature of the Service at our sole discretion.
3. Eligibility
You may use FDOWN only if you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in your country) and you are not legally prohibited from using online services. By using the Service you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or you are using the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
- You have not been previously suspended or removed from the Service.
- You are not located in a country subject to a comprehensive trade embargo by the jurisdiction in which FDOWN operates.
- You are not on any list of prohibited parties maintained by any governmental authority.
4. Permitted use
You may use FDOWN to download Facebook videos for the following purposes:
- Personal, offline viewing on a device that you own or control.
- Private archival of content created by you or by accounts you manage.
- Time-shifting - that is, watching a video at a later time when you would otherwise not have internet access.
- Accessibility - for example, downloading a video to add subtitles for personal use, or to slow it down for study purposes.
- Educational use in a non-commercial setting, such as a classroom presentation, provided that you credit the original author and do not redistribute the file beyond the immediate audience.
For any use case not listed above, you should obtain explicit written permission from the copyright owner of the video before downloading or using the file.
5. Prohibited use
You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to, use FDOWN to:
- Download, store, copy or redistribute content for any commercial purpose, including but not limited to re-selling, licensing, advertising, or training machine-learning models, without the express written permission of the copyright owner.
- Re-upload, republish or redistribute downloaded content on any other platform - including other social networks, video-sharing sites, blogs or messaging apps - without the copyright owner's permission.
- Download content that you know, or have reason to believe, is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or that violates the rights of any third party.
- Attempt to access, retrieve or download content from Facebook accounts or groups that you do not have permission to view, or to circumvent any access-control mechanism put in place by Facebook or by the content owner.
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overload or impair FDOWN's servers or infrastructure, or that could interfere with any other party's use of the Service.
- Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers or other software to access the Service at high volume without our prior written consent.
- Remove, alter or obscure any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice from any content downloaded through the Service.
- Use the Service to commit, encourage or facilitate any act that would violate applicable law in your jurisdiction or in the jurisdiction in which FDOWN operates.
Violations of these rules may result in immediate suspension of access to the Service, blocking of the offending URL, and - in cases involving illegal activity - referral to the appropriate law-enforcement authorities.
6. Intellectual property
All content downloaded through FDOWN remains the exclusive property of the original copyright owner - typically the person or organisation that created and uploaded the video to Facebook. FDOWN does not acquire any rights to that content, and neither do you, beyond the limited right to view the file privately on a device you own or control.
The FDOWN name, logo, website design, source code, documentation and other original materials that make up the Service are the intellectual property of FDOWN and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
FDOWN is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or in any way officially connected to Meta Platforms, Inc., Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. The names "Facebook", "Instagram" and "Meta" are trademarks of their respective owners and are used on this site for descriptive purposes only.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FDOWN disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
FDOWN does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any particular video will be downloadable, that the download will complete successfully, or that the downloaded file will meet your expectations in terms of quality, length or content. You use the Service at your own risk.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall FDOWN, its operators, employees, contractors or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages - including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption or any other commercial damages or losses - arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
The total aggregate liability of FDOWN for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to FDOWN in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 1. Because FDOWN is a free service, the typical recovery under this clause will be zero. You acknowledge that the limitations of liability set out in this section are a reasonable allocation of risk between you and FDOWN and form an essential basis of the bargain between us.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless FDOWN, its operators, employees, contractors and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses - including reasonable attorneys' fees - arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third-party rights (including without limitation intellectual-property rights and privacy rights), or your violation of any applicable law.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service interacts with Facebook, a third-party platform operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. FDOWN has no control over Facebook's terms of service, privacy practices, content policies or technical infrastructure. Any change Facebook makes to its platform - including URL structure, video-encoding formats, access controls or anti-scraping measures - may affect FDOWN's ability to function correctly without prior notice.
The Service may also contain links to third-party websites that are not operated by FDOWN. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party site. You acknowledge that FDOWN is not responsible for any damage or loss caused by your use of any third-party site or service.
11. Termination
You may stop using FDOWN at any time, for any reason, simply by closing your browser tab and not returning to the site. Because no account is required to use the Service, there is no formal termination procedure for users.
We reserve the right to suspend or block your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, if we believe in good faith that you have violated these Terms, that your use of the Service poses a legal or reputational risk to FDOWN, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. We also reserve the right to discontinue the Service entirely at any time, with or without notice.
All sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination - including but not limited to the sections on intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law - shall remain in effect after termination.
12. Changes to these terms
We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Service after any change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
If we make material changes - meaning changes that significantly alter the rights or obligations of either party - we will endeavour to notify users by posting a prominent notice on the FDOWN homepage for at least 30 days before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which FDOWN's operating entity is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in the jurisdiction in which FDOWN's operating entity is registered, conducted in the English language. Notwithstanding the foregoing, FDOWN may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
14. Contact
If you have any questions, comments or concerns about these Terms, please contact us through our contact page or by email at [email protected]. We aim to respond to all inquiries within one business day.
For copyright-related questions or DMCA takedown requests, please write to [email protected] and include proof of ownership of the content in question.
