About FDOWN
A free tool for saving Facebook videos, Reels, and Stories to your device.
FDOWN is a free website for saving supported public Facebook videos, Reels, and Stories to your phone, tablet, or computer. Paste a link, review the available files, and choose one to download. The downloader runs in your browser and does not require an account.
What you can download
- Videos. Supported videos from feeds, Pages, and Facebook Watch, with MP4 versions in HD, SD, or lower quality when available.
- Reels. Reels from profiles and Pages, which can vary in length and orientation. Supported video files can be saved as MP4.
- Stories. Stories, saved while the Story remains publicly available, usually within 24 hours of posting.
- Audio. Audio-only files when available, saved as MP3 if conversion in your browser succeeds.
Why FDOWN exists
Facebook does not offer a download button for most videos. A local copy can be useful for watching a video during a flight, revisiting a tutorial when your connection is unreliable, or keeping a recording you posted yourself. FDOWN checks the video link for downloadable files and shows the versions it finds, so you can choose one to save on your device.
How it works
When you submit a link, FDOWN checks for available files and displays the download options in your browser. We do not provide a public library of downloaded videos or maintain user download histories. Technical processing and retention practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
What FDOWN does not do
- It does not download private videos or videos from private groups.
- It does not ask for your Facebook username or password.
- It does not show ads inside the downloader.
- It is not affiliated with Meta Platforms, Inc., Facebook or Instagram.
Using it responsibly
Rights in a video, its music and other included material may belong to different rights holders. Please use FDOWN for personal, offline viewing only, and do not re-upload or sell content without the necessary rights holders’ permission. Our Terms of Service explain what is allowed.
